Mitt Romney Is Better Suited For Liberal New Hampshire Than Conservative Iowa
By author/contributor Tricia Erickson, http://triciaerickson.tumblr.com/
Mitt Romney has focused his electoral efforts toward liberal New Hampshire, rather than conservative Iowa. Straight out of the governorship, the Romneys sold their Massachusetts home and established residency at their $3.54 million dollar lake house in New Hampshire. Romney also registered his PAC there.
When Romney established residency in New Hampshire, he knew that his completely liberal record could not stand the muster of a conservative Iowa caucus. To come out Free & Strong (America), as his current PAC is named, he must win the New Hampshire Primary and has counted on this sure win strategy since before he left his neighboring Massachusetts governorship.
Even before the 2008 election, among Romney’s many donations, in 2006, $20,000 went to the New Hampshire GOP and his Commonwealth PAC money went to party committees and candidates in key states, including $164,150 to New Hampshire.
Romney, surely realizing his liberal pro-abortion and anti-family record in Massachusetts, his “Fee Fee” pro-tax reputation, as well as his membership in an anti-Christian church, also sought to buy his influence among Christian and conservative organizations.
In Massachusetts, Romney’s foundation donated $15,000 to Massachusetts Citizens for Life, $10,000 to Massachusetts Citizens for Limited Taxation and $10,000 to the Massachusetts Family Institute (which is affiliated with the Family Research Council and Focus on the Family) in December 2006.
In addition to Massachusetts groups, Romney’s foundation also donated $25,000 to the conservative Heritage Foundation, which coordinated with him on his disastrous RomneyCare, $35,000 to the Federalist Society, a network of conservatives focused on judicial nominations, and $5,000 (along with another $5,000 from Evangelicals for Mitt) to help sponsor a dinner for the National Review’s website. According to the New York Times, “All the groups said he had never contributed before, and his foundation’s public tax filings show no previous gifts to similar groups.” [Emphasis mine] David D. Kirkpatrick, “In Romney’s Bid, His Wallet Opens to the Right”
In South Carolina, a key primary state, Romney’s PAC donated $9,500 to the Palmetto state’s GOP, $500 to South Carolina Citizens for Life, $1,000 to South Carolina’s Club for Growth, $1,000 to South Carolinians for Responsible Government , $2,000 to South Carolina Victory and $2,000 to Charleston school board candidates in 2007. Ken Silverstein, “Making Mitt Romney: How to Fabricate a Conservative (Harper’s Magazine).
“Romney earlier this month skipped the Iowa state fair, which drew other potential presidential candidates. Instead, Romney has used his New Hampshire summer to further build local relationships in a state where backers believe the socially moderate Republican electorate allows him a more natural base of support,”. Sasha Issenberg, The Boston Globe
The Hill reported in July 2010, that Romney’s PAC had already contributed to more than 150 campaigns in 2010, with more than 70 congressional candidates, 13 senate candidates, and 9 gubernatorial candidates. He has also donated to almost 60 legislative candidates in states such as Georgia, South Carolina and New Hampshire and since 2009 donated over $30,000 to the New Hampshire state GOP with an additional $7,500 to local and state candidates in New Hampshire special elections wrote Sean J. Miller
True to form, Romney is banking that what he lacks in Republican and conservative credentials can be bought and paid for, yet again, in 2012. And New Hampshire is just the place to demonstrate that his strategy will be successful.

She is also the author of the new book “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus The Office Of The Presidency of the United States of America.”
Tricia purposely became less active on-the-air in recent years and has not necessarily sought to participate in on-air interviews. However, because of the concern in her heart that for the first time in history, a prominent Mormon could achieve the Office Of The Presidency, she feels a responsibility to educate the public, both in the US and abroad, regarding what this potential Mormon President could truly mean for America. She is an expert on the well-masked cult of Mormonism and a former Mormon Bishop’s daughter who left the church in hermid 20’s.
From a political stand point, she believes it is imperative to reveal the facts on Romney’s political record, in opposition to what the Romney camp will shift the voters to believe in order to achieve the Presidency.
Side note: Some of the issues Tricia has been called to speak to in the past are the dangers of Radical Islam, Barack Obama,Mitt Romney, Mormonism, all things political, the imaging-posturing-positioning of Presidential Candidates, the culture wars and more. Either You Are, Or You Aren't a Renaissance Woman!
A renaissance woman is someone who sets her own agenda for personal achievement and will not allow herself to be manipulated or intimidated by self-proclaimed spokesmen who try and wrap their political philosophies around terms like "equality," "choice," "peace," "tolerance" and "diversity." She understands that she has been created for such a time as this and embraces her destiny as a challenge and not a curse, no matter what her personal circumstances. She is a winner not a whiner, a leader not a follower, a victor, not a victim. She wants to change the paradigm of the feminist movement that has served to marginalize and ridicule women who do not follow their collective agenda.
Millions of women around the country, from all professions, backgrounds and cultures, are courageously picking up the mantel of leadership and virtue, that the feminist movement has squandered. They are providing thoughtful and accurate analysis, on a variety of issues, of where, and who we are as a nation.
Remember, this is not a club. It is a mindset!
