Tokyo Rosie and her Conspiracy Theories

Posted on: Wednesday, April 4th, 2007 by Nina May

Hillary Clinton made conspiracy theories quite fashionable with her insistence that the evil “right-wing conspiracy” was responsible for her husband cheating on her with a girl young enough to be her daughter. The sycophant press set their liberal jaws and nodded in agreement, not even bothering to ask how all those people could have fit in the Oval office while Monica earned her presidential kneepads. But that seems to be the modus operandi with liberals . . . when they either make a mistake or don't like the facts, they point fingers at the conspiratorial boogieman, blaming someone else for their shortcomings. Take Tokyo Rosie, just one taco short of a full combination platter, who insists that 911 was an inside job in which George Bush is responsible. For someone as dumb as she continues to claim Bush is . . . she certainly is giving him credit for an amazing Tom Cruise type impossible mission to bring down the twin towers and create a situation where something was hot enough to melt steel. She of course thinks there is no fire hot enough to do that. Tokyo Rosie needs to get out more. If she went to Shenyang, China, for example, she could step over open channels...

Republican On The Roof

Posted on: Saturday, August 28th, 2004 by Cheryl Felicia Rhoads

Outside View: Republican on the roof By Cheryl Felicia Rhoads A UPI Outside View commentary Hollywood, CA, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A Republican on the roof ... sounds crazy, no? Well, it's not a new musical. But as a member of four entertainment unions, being a conservative in Hollywood just isn't easy ... to put it mildly. Although many in showbiz may preach diversity with regards to ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, they are fluent in hate speech when it comes to intellectual "otherness". Or have you been in a cave with Osama Bin Laden and not heard Whoopie Goldberg and other show biz-types lately? I read on an entertainment Web site that, "actress Mandy Moore is in a rage because it was rumored that she might be a Republican. The star of A Walk To Remember angrily denied she supports Bush and his party. Her publicist claims that "Mandy is not, nor has she ever been, a Republican." She has reason to be angry or -- more to the point -- afraid regardless of her what her real views are. One doesn't dare admit being a Republican, not unless you make it big. And I mean Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger big. Even if a performer is already on a hit television...

Word for Hollywood

Posted on: Saturday, January 3rd, 2004 by Lorraine Coconato

“Hollywood is the stone! I am wooing this city and all it’s vital parts! What I determined for this place has not yet been! But, My people (the praying saints) have received My heart of passion for this people group and they have petitioned Me steadfastly, thus, shall I redress this people, thus, shall I meet those who are called by My Name, though, they have not yet known Me!

I shall visit Hollywood with Bread (Ruth 1: 6b) and shall feed this people the wonders of My love; and they shall know the goodness and tenderness of the Living God who formed them for works that will bring glory to My Name! I, Jesus, Messiah and Lord, will make Myself known to them; I will appear to them in many forms and those that are seeking, will know Me! Nothing is too difficult for Me!

Though death and darkness have reigned in this territory, know that I will breathe life into these stones and they shall become “living stones,” (1 Peter 2: 4-5) for the Chief Cornerstone will perform this on behalf of those who have cried to Me and have believed that Salvation and New Life can overcome this city!

And many will come to Me and greater works will they...

MOVIE COMPANIES TRY TO MANIPULATE THE CHURCH

Posted on: Tuesday, September 23rd, 2003 by Renaissance Men

Recently, the representative of the major studios' outreach to churches claimed that he was slapping MOVIEGUIDE(R) on the wrist because we printed a review of a bad movie they were trying to market to churches one week before it opened in movie theaters. The company in question had gone to a great deal of trouble marketing this movie, THE FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS, including buying airtime on major Christian TV and radio stations.'  Of course, this action was specious and biased since Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Time, Newsweek, Harry Knowles and Ain't It Cool, Inc. (www.aintitcool.com), Entertainment Weekly, Village Voice, Movie Review Query Engine, Reel Views, Movie Parables, The Film Hobbit, Film Journal International, and Movie Gurus all publish early reviews. In other words, secular reviews can come out at any time, but Christian reviews cannot. Our MOVIEGUIDE(R) reviewer pointed out that the movie was not Christian and in fact had a humanist worldview. On the other hand, the movie did have Gospel music in it, so many Christians have bought into it as being acceptable for Christian audiences. The level of enthusiasm for the movie drops significantly, however, when we point out that...

Does Hollywood See the Light?

Posted on: Sunday, July 20th, 2003 by Cheryl Felicia Rhoads

"She knows, she knows" is a line uttered by my favorite character, portrayed on stage and film based on the real-life experience of the late Annie Sullivan, who taught Helen Keller. Helen had been both blind and deaf since early childhood. The teacher is jubilant as her student realizes that her hand gestures communicate the concept of "water".'  For Keller it is the epiphany for one long held captive in the dark.Hollywood may be experiencing a revelation similar to that experienced by Helen Keller.'  Crisis is the Greek word for opportunity. The aftermath of September 11th presents a great opportunity to the entertainment industry. Before the terrorist attacks, Hollywood embraced many values that were markedly different from mainstream America. But since that day, that cultural gap has narrowed. ' The film industry has always reflected its times and has also been instrumental in shaping popular culture. The increasingly negative influences foisted by Hollywood upon the rest of society, particularly children, has been an area of deep concern to me. In the past decade, Hollywood’s steady influx of unsavory material has been relentless. For example the show,...

A Fight for Love and Glory: Good Art vs. Bad Art

Posted on: Saturday, June 28th, 2003 by Cheryl Felicia Rhoads

Director/raconteur, Joshua Logan related an incident during the making of the film, The Garden of Allah starring Marlene Deitrich. Logan was working as the dialogue coach and he and Dietrich were working on her dialogue. At one point in the filming, the German femme fatale, who struggled with the English language turned to Logan ala Elmer Fudd and complained "Tell me the twuth, Josh. It's twash, isn't it?" Well, it certainly was no Casablanca! The "twuth" is that in today's society, there is a lot of "twash." Sometimes, in television and films, nudity and vulgarity can be portrayed as artistically truthful and even be essential in depicting man's struggle with his soul. Such is the case with the film, "Schindler's List." On television, The Sopranos and NYPD Blue are both examples of excellent dramas that have certainly "pushed the envelope". However, the recently Emmy honored "Sex In The City" many feel is highly touted "twash". It is interesting to note that at the post-September 11th, long delayed televised Emmy presentation, best actress recipient, Edie Falco from The Sopranos drew thunderous applause for praising...

Compare the Brave Entertainers of 1943 with Today’s Hollywood Motley Bunch.

Posted on: Wednesday, April 23rd, 2003by RWNetwork Administrator

Letter to the Editor, The Entertainers of 2003 have been in all of the news media lately. it seems News Paper, Television and Radio has been more than ready to put them and their message before the public. I would like to remind the people of what the entertainers of 1943 were doing, (60 years ago). Most of these brave men have since passed on.

Alec Guinness (Star Wars) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day. James Doohan ("Scotty" on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U.S. Army on D-Day. Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was a R.A.F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans. David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy. James Stewart flew 20 missions as a B-24 pilot in Europe. Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) was a waist gunner flying missions on a B-17 in Europe. Charlton Heston was an Army Air Corps Sergeant in Kodiak. Earnest Borgnine was a U.S. Navy Gunners Mate 1935-1945. Charles Durning was a U.S. Army Ranger at Normandy. Charles Bronson was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps. George C. Scott was a U.S. Marine. Eddie Albert (Green...

Hollywood Idols Replaced by Real Heroes and Heroines

Posted on: Sunday, April 20th, 2003 by Nina May

I was having a hard time deciding whether to comment on Tim Robbins temper tantrum at the National Press Club on April, 15, or change my shelf paper. Neither are really necessary, both are tedious, and no real impact is made on life as we know it, if neither is done. Tim, who is actually a very good actor, tried to stretch his thespian abilities by donning the demeanor of righteous martyr for all oppressed victims. He sounded more like he was trying out for a modern version of a Greek tragedy. It was almost as though his mother had written the speech and forced him to deliver¯ it, because when it came to the softball questions, handed to him with talking points attached, he seemed unsure of himself, almost as though he forgot the impassioned speech he had just, moments before, delivered. It was such a huge relief too, to find that after his speech, warning the world that, A chill wind is blowing in this nation . . . being sent through the White House and its allies . . . [that] if you oppose this administration, there can and will be ramifications,¯ that he wasn't carted away in handcuffs. For a guy who claims there is no tolerance for opposing views and free speech any...

POISONING THE WELL

Posted on: Tuesday, April 15th, 2003by RWNetwork Administrator

Two of the best and brightest in the entertainment industry have been hit by scathing personal attacks, as well as attacks on their work.

On March 9th, 2003, the New York Times ran a featured article by Christopher Noxon in the prestigious New York Times Magazine entitled "Is the Pope Catholic. . . Enough?" The article blasted Mel Gibson for his traditional Catholic beliefs (as if it was wrong for someone to hold traditional beliefs) and smeared his new movie on the passion of Jesus Christ with the charge of anti-Semitism.

The article quoted Mr. Gibson's father, who suggested to the writer that the Holocaust was overestimated. Of course, there is confusion on this issue in the major press. For instance, the same day that the New York Times article claimed that the Holocaust took the lives of 6 million people. An article in the Calendar section of the LA times claimed 13 million. Perhaps the 13 million was an inflation, but what everyone people should realize is that if just one person was murdered for any reason, it is cause for condemnation.

In his interview, Mel Gibson takes the biblical view that we are all culpable for the death of Jesus Christ....

The Democrats’ Michael Moore Problem

Posted on: Monday, March 24th, 2003 by Laura Ingraham

"¦[W]e live in fictitious times -- a time when we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president -- a time when a man is sending us to war for fictitious reasons." -- Michael Moore, accepting his Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Don't get suckered into believing that Moore's anti-Bush, anti-war rant is an isolated viewpoint on the far-left of the Democrat party. The dirty little secret is that most Dem-elite intellectuals agree with stupid white man Moore but are afraid to say so publicly.

The truth is that leading Democrat "thinkers" have at one time or another explicitly or implicitly conveyed the same sentiments. Take the "fictitious election" comment. Bill Clinton, still the titular head of the Democrat Party, has made similar cracks. Ditto for recovering politician Al Gore. At a speech in the Dominican Republic in December, Gore asked the crowd, "In your presidential election here, does the candidate who gets the most votes win the election?"

As for Moore's "fictitious reasons" for war comment, Senators Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd have made comparable...

Butterfly

Either You Are, Or You Aren't a Renaissance Woman!

A renaissance woman is someone who sets her own agenda for personal achievement and will not allow herself to be manipulated or intimidated by self-proclaimed spokesmen who try and wrap their political philosophies around terms like "equality," "choice," "peace," "tolerance" and "diversity." She understands that she has been created for such a time as this and embraces her destiny as a challenge and not a curse, no matter what her personal circumstances. She is a winner not a whiner, a leader not a follower, a victor, not a victim. She wants to change the paradigm of the feminist movement that has served to marginalize and ridicule women who do not follow their collective agenda.

Millions of women around the country, from all professions, backgrounds and cultures, are courageously picking up the mantel of leadership and virtue, that the feminist movement has squandered. They are providing thoughtful and accurate analysis, on a variety of issues, of where, and who we are as a nation.

Remember, this is not a club. It is a mindset!
