AN OPEN LETTER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
Dear Americans,
As a fifteen years old child and a nine grader, I am completely disappointed with the way things are going in this country. I cry everyday when l watch the news with my mom and l see people shouting and insulting the president. What are you teaching us the children? My mother tells me all the time to be a problem solver and not a trouble maker. All l see on television today is trouble.
I hear people calling the president names and holding all kinds of pictures of him. It is very degusting and disgraceful. I am sure there is a better way of expressing one’s frustration. What do you want a child like me to learn from what l see? You want the teachers to teach us to be polite and respectful yet you all are not being polite and respectful to the president of our country.
I asked my mother why people say the president’s healthcare plan is socialist and my mother said because his plan offers every American healthcare. Now l asked my mother, since every child is offered free education in this country, would you call it ‘socialized’...

Ican still hear the James Carvell orchestrated mantra of the Clinton campaign in1992, drilling it into all our thick heads that the economy was the only issuethat mattered that year. In his own, inimitable way, he summarized the threepoints of that campaign as being, “change vs. more of the same,” “The economy, stupid” and “Don't forget health care.” It is refreshing to know that with allthe hyperbole about change, that some things actually never do change . . .like Democrats and elections.
Itis easy to understand why Hillary would rely on those three successful pointsto hang her campaign on since they were prominently posted at the Clintonheadquarters in 1992 as a constant reminder to employ the KISS method ofpolitical strategy . . . Keep It Simple Stupid. But, that doesn’t explain whyObama has adopted exactly the same three points, not straying off subject toeven feign originality.
Thereare a few very interesting points about the two democratic contenders, who areusing pages from the old Clinton playbook as though nothing has changed in 16years. One is that in 1992, Clinton won with less than 43% of the...

No responsibility, no accountability for one's actions. That's the society we now live in, as people engage in careless behavior. The new mantra now is to look the other way, to "forgive and forget," no matter how ridiculous and outrageous the behavior. Two news stories have come to light that embody such carelessness. In politics, Joe Biden (D-DE) is under fire for comments he made towards Barak Obama (D-IL). "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man", he quipped. Source: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=2838420&page=1 What got my attention was the "clean" comment. Why did Biden need to go there? CLEAN?! As if there is somehow a lack of black people in the public eye who are "clean"! I cannot find the reasoning behind his statements. There's not much for Biden to do other than apologize. Since he is running for President, I would assume that others will think twice about giving him a nod. But indeed, Joe Biden displayed very careless and crass behavior; much thought was not put into what was said. Shouldn't accountability for what is said by a politician be of extreme...

Ah, a brand new year in politics. The Democrats take control of the House and Senate after 12 long years. But will things change overwhelmingly for the better? Doesn't seem to be the case. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the new Speaker of the House, is already snubbing certain groups who don't believe with her point of view. Her first day on the job as Speaker came with a reception or "Open House for the People's House" as it was put, but the Christian Defense Coalition group was stopped from entering the bash! Director and Reverend Patrick J. Mahoney who is a pro-life Democrat said his group wanted to talk to Pelosi about the issue of abortion and other pressing issues in our communities. "We expressed our concern that if Speaker Pelosi is interested in hearing all voices, all points of view, that if she is truly making it an 'open house for the people's house,' why were we not allowed to attend?" questioned Mahoney( http://www.cnsnews.com/Culture/Archive/200701/CUL20070105b.html ). That is just one example of what I hope will not be the norm for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. America does not need any partisan politicking from our leaders. And certainly, we would hope that our leaders...

"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit."--Proverbs 15:4 (NIV) Irrational outbursts and commentary are prevalent these days. People lash out emotionally without thinking of the consequences of their words. No matter how passionate one feels about an issue, it is never an excuse to cross the line into the outrageous. Outlandish remarks made by Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) around Memorial Day regarding a supposed incident of a group of US Marines killing innocents (Haditha), show the disregard that Murtha has for our fighting forces and their families. Memorial Day is supposed to be a time when our nation looks back on the many sacrifices of those in our armed forces, and instead, Murtha screams that US Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." While an investigation continues into whether this was true, Murtha took the opportunity to slam our troops instead of congratulating them on a job well done for their overall efforts to stabilize Iraq. Murtha's comments only further isolate our troops in the world's eyes as "baby killers", or murderers. The aunt of a soldier who died in the roadside bombing in Haditha before the alleged...

Americans by the thousands go about their lives as if 9-11 did not happen. Many people are content to trust that their government is doing what they are supposed to be doing. Well, they are WRONG! Many of us are living in a false sense of security if we think those at the helm of this country are doing right by us. I have said time and again in the past that we must hold our leaders accountable and let our voices ring out to demand what we expect from them. I've been disappointed as many of you have in the behavior of the Senate during the entire Bush administration, and President Bush in his second term. Yes, the President has had to fight battles from Senate Democrats to get things done for the country during his time in office, and many conservatives backed the President in his first term to push through conservative judges and other important issues that are of concern to us. We saw the obstructionism from the Democrats and how nasty they were time and again. Then 9-11 happened, and we all came together and stopped the insane party politics. But we are back to more of the same, except the tone has changed for the worse. It's not about Republicans vs. Democrats right now, it's...

In the midst of all the flip-flopping by the Senate on illegal immigration, I have looked for future leaders in our nation who favor sealing the borders and aggressively acting on illegal immigration. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) has stood out to me, not only for his conservative leanings, but because of his tireless effort to remind Americans of the many problems associated with allowing illegals to work and live in America, and the problems along the border. A recent TIME poll found that most Americans, 56 to 40 percent, want a border wall built along Mexico and America... all the way across. 62 percent of Americans want the military to guard the border. 51 percent want ALL illegals deported, and the border sealed. I believe Congressman Tancredo is the type of man who Americans would consider as a possible candidate for President in the 2008 elections, if given the chance. Right now, other names in the Republican party are floating about and I'm surprised to hear there is rarely a mention of Tancredo. Probably perhaps because the "good 'ol boy" club of RINO's are trying to get their names in the spotlight. They, to me, are not the ones to watch. Since 1999, for 4 terms,...

What were the chances of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson dying on the same day . . . the 4th of July . . . the birth of the nation they labored to bring life to? What are the chances that President Reagan, who brought freedom out of tyranny, would die on the same weekend as the anniversary of the liberation of Europe and the American involvement in that liberation.
' ' ' ' ' On one hand it is unfortunate because it is very rare that the world is reminded of the greatness of America, her sacrifices for freedom and the liberation from oppression. So to have two in one weekend almost seems like putting an extra quarter in the parking meter by accident, thinking you will get another 15 minutes on a two hour meter.
' ' ' ' ' Boy . . . is she cynical you say. No, just old and used to a system that does anything but honor heroes, laud sacrifice and praise the glorious triumphs of the human spirit to work together to defeat forces that would destroy it.
' ' ' ' ' President Reagan and his memory will live forever for those who knew and loved him. Even for those who didn’t know him, but loved him anyway, they will never be dissuaded by voices that still utter the veiled accusations...

If I drew a cartoon, of the Democrat candidates for president, it would be a quick sketch of a bunch of little puppies attacking the pant legs of a man calmly and quietly, going about his business. Each one of these little guys would have a name of all presidential wannabes, who think that attacking Bush will win them the hearts and minds of the American people. It would show that the more they are tuned out, ignored, and smiled at, the more shrill they would get.
These pups continue to blast Bush for his military victories, security successes, and solid leadership . . . because they have nothing concrete to complain about. Yet, these are the same people who supported their hero, Bill Clinton, no matter how much shame and disgrace he heaped upon us. They shrugged at the knowledge that Clinton had several opportunities to apprehend Osama Ben Laden, which would have prevented the disastrous attack on America, September 11. They yawn at the idea that the Clinton Administration led unprovoked, preemptive attacks on several sovereign nations with not one whisper of discontent from these little pups.
They continue to claim that Republicans want tax cuts for the rich without acknowledging...

Dipo Ola is a Canadian Citizen, born in Nigeria and is currently practicing law and serving as the Nigerian and Canadian Affiliate for Renaissance Connection.' April 23, 2003' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' The dreaded crush is upon us all, once again. The crush upon free speech, the refusal to allow people to speak freely, as mandated by the First Amendment of the American constitution. And as usual, the depiction of anything remotely critical of alternative lifestyles has been universally classified, as ˜intolerant.'Today, the unfortunate victim of the politically correct brigades, is Republican Senator Rick Santorum, who is being tongue-lashed by' Gay/Lesbian rights groups and a large number of Democratic party politicians, for saying during a recent interview, that' "If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything," Senator Santorum's words are being described as ˜intolerant', ˜bigoted', and ˜unworthy of an official in a leadership position'. And as usual, the inevitable depiction' ...
