Pacify Wall Street: Is Romney banking on big donors to buy the election?

Pacify Wall Street: Is Romney banking on big donors to buy the election?

By Tricia Erickson, book author “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters?”

Barack Obama pledged to raise more than a billion dollars for his re-election bid which has stroked the public’s ire in both the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street Movement.

Many were quick to criticize (and rightfully so) Obama for the largesse and cozying up to wealthy donors while millions of Americans are struggling. Yet Mitt Romney is essentially doing the same thing. According to the Los Angeles Times:

“Seen as an early frontrunner for the Republican nod, Romney raised $4.9 million before June 30 of this year, nearly twice what Obama gathered and far surpassing any of his Republican rivals, according to an analysis of campaign data by the Center for Responsive Politics.”

The LA Times noted that employees at Goldman Sachs:

“which swung heavily for Obama in 2008, gave more than six times as much money to Romney as Obama in the donations reported so far.”

Romney, who is banking on Wall Street yet trying to distance himself from them, cannot hide his ties to...

What Effect Has Mitt Romney Already Had On America?

What Effect Has Mitt Romney Already Had On America?

The most important decision American’s still have the liberty to make is to place a candidate in the Office of the Presidency in 2012 through our precious vote. With this in mind, let’s examine the effect Mr. Romney has already had on America.

Mitt Romney:

Is our Founding Father of Gay Marriage in America. The Massachusetts Log Cabin Republicans worked very hard to elect him, as they were counting on him to pass same sex marriage under his governorship. Romney illegally, unconstitutionally and unilaterally instituted same-sex marriage by falsely declaring that the court ordered him to do so (http://www.robertpaine.blogspot.com/). The devastating effect on our families, our military and our country may never be repaired.

As a result, Catholic adoption centers were forced to close, rather than to place an innocent child in to a same-sex home for parentage: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/same-sex_marriage_law_forces_d.c._catholic_charities_to_close_adoption_program/

Mormon Bishop’s Daughter Agrees With Jeffress, Mitt Romney Belongs To A Cult

Posted on: Friday, October 14th, 2011 by Tricia Erickson

By author/contributor Tricia Erickson, http://rwnetwork.net/Tricia_Erickson

With all of the discussion on Reverend Robert Jeffress’s statement that Mormonism is a cult, I agree with him. Mormonism fits the definition of a cult. As a former Mormon Bishop’s daughter and a former Temple Mormon wife, I can attest to the facts herein.

According to the Random House dictionary, a cult is a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies; a group or false sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc; a religion or sect considered to be, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader; the members of such a religion or sect.

Let us break down each section of the definition of a cult, as it relates to the religion of Mormonism:

“A particular system...

If Mitt Romney Is a Mormon, Does This Make Him a Christian?

If Mitt Romney Is a Mormon, Does This Make Him a Christian?

Contributor/Author:Tricia Erickson, author "Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters?" http://triciaerickson.tumblr.com/

Our next President could be a temple recommend card carrying Mormon. With Rick Perry entering the race and Michelle Bachman still a contender, plus the additional Christian candidates who could still nudge in to the winner’s circle, which candidate will the Christian vote go to? Considering the outlandish doctrines of the Mormon Church, will Christians be fooled by the recent Mormon portrayal that they, too, are Christians?

In recent years, the Mormon Church PR machine has worked very hard to present their religion as “just another Christian religion”. There‘s nothing more to see here, move along.

With the long awaited and strategically planned goal to place a Mormon into the Office Of The Presidency of the United States Of America, the Mormon prophets, apostles and leaders of the...

Class is Back and Virginia Leads the Pack

Posted on: Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 by Nina May

It is hard to believe that it has been almost 20 years since the country was forced to sit on the front row of marital and personal dysfunction, self-imposed on the highest elected official in the land by its occupant. We sat drop jaw at the raunchy revelations of bimbo eruptions, boxers vs. briefs, and intern-wielding knee pad audacities that made even the most worldly observer blush. There was a morbid fascination with the ongoing soap opera and voters were reluctant to change the channel thinking they were still waiting breathlessly to see if JR and Sue Ellen were going to survive another season of Dallas.That soap opera gave way to the drama of a nation at war with an unseen enemy and then to the fatigue that uncertainty can bring. Now, as though stumbling from a confused state of over indulgence and weariness, desperate for a change that only hope in the unknown can bring, the nation finds itself, once again on the threshold of uncertainty.I saw this veil lifted...

Women Aren't Falling for Desperate Deeds

Posted on: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 by Nina May

The biggest complaint that the pro-Obamacare supporters have voiced is that conservatives are taking portions of HR3200 out of context when they talk about death panels, abortion funding, and insurance coverage for those who are in the US illegally. Creigh Deeds is doing exactly the same thing to Bob McDonnell’s school paper by pulling a few well chosen sentences out of a 93 page thesis. The good news is, anyone can read it for themselves and draw their own conclusion, the bad news is, most people won’t, and that is what Deeds is counting on. (here is a link if you care to read it for yourself . . . http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/McDonnell_thesis_082909.pdf)

We have read the entire thesis and as women we find nothing outrageous about his findings which are all based on case history and the rule of law. It is a historical thesis that follows the history of the traditional family from the Common Law of England stating, “Before one can evaluate existing government policies with respect to the family, a clear understanding of the nature,...

On Independence Day . . . Become an Independent

Posted on: Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 by Nina May

When Ronald Reagan switched parties from Democrat to Republican in 1962, it was because “the Democrat party left me, I didn’t leave it,” he explained. There was a huge exodus out of the Democrat party during those embarrassing days when all the governors of most southern states were not only Democrats, but active segregationists.

Millions of people switched parties during the very successful Southern Strategy, orchestrated by Richard Nixon and Pat Buchanan to bring southerners back to the party of Lincoln. They had become frustrated by the Democrats in their party who were clinging to the erroneous supreme court ruling in Plessey v. Ferguson that suggested blacks could be equal while being kept separate.

This exodus from the Democrat party ushered in the era of Nixon, but other than his positive position on civil rights, including introducing “Affirmative Action,” he was not necessarily a “conservative.” It was the election of Jimmy Carter that successfully galvanized the true conservatives in the country and elected the man who personified the very essence of the meaning of that word. There were no pale pastels in who and...

Liberal Feminists Commit Political Suicide

Renaissance Women

Take the Helm of Leadership

It is beyond shocking that the women who have claimed for decades that women can and should compete openly in a man’s world, breaking glass ceilings while multi-tasking on a variety of projects they choose . . . have now become knuckle draggers like the men they first claimed oppressed them over 50 years ago. You know, the men who said a woman’s place is in the home, and keeping her barefoot and pregnant would ensure that she stayed there.Irony of ironies, one of the women who inspired the modern feminist movement was Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who, with a handful of other maverick women, fought for abolition and for women’s right to vote. By the way, she also had seven children while fighting that good fight, and no one back then, seemed to suggest she couldn’t do both. And even though she lived over 150 years ago, it was much easier for her to get from town to town, than it is for Gov. Sarah Palin because no cities in Alaska are connected by roads. To travel...

All That Glitters Is Not Gold . . . Obama vs. McCain

Posted on: Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 by Nina May

There was an entertaining Peter Sellers movie in the late 1970s’ called Being There. It was about the rise of an unknown, simple gardener named Chance, to be the candidate for president. He fascinated the clueless elite because he spoke in such sweeping, symbolic, erudite terms . . . in their opinion. All conversations made him seem so brilliant when really he was just talking about planting, seasons, seeds, etc. The adoring crowds even misunderstood his name and thought it was Chauncey Gardener . . . when really, he was just, Chance, the gardener.

Barack Obama is this generation’s Chauncey Gardener. He rose from absolute obscurity to be the darling of the elite who hang on his every word and get chills up and down their spine when he speaks. But, when he speaks, what does he say? His depth of articulation is tantalizing, as was Chauncey’s, but when you unravel it, and analyze it, there really is no substance to it.

In the Saddleback Forum that...

The Tyranny of the Atheist Minority

Posted on: Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 by Renaissance Men

Daily there are news reports of atheists:

*offended by prayers at graduations and football games;

*offended by a Cross or Star of David;

*offended by Christmas carols or patriotic hymns;

*offended by Christmas trees and menorahs;

*offended by the Ten Commandments or "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance;

*offended a teacher might hint there may be a Creator;

*offended a soldier said "God bless you" at a funeral;

*offended the Boy Scout Oath says "Do my duty to God and my country"; or

*offended by a cross on a Veterans Memorial.

Whereas basic Christian teaching is to forgive when offended, these atheists, when offended, protest, intimidate, threaten and sue to have their will enforced as law.

But exactly how many atheists are in America, anyway?

USA Todaypublished Feb. 25, 2008, the results of the U.S. Religious Landscape Survey, conducted byThe Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

This survey "of the people" reported that80.2 percent of Americans hold Judeo-Christian beliefs(51.3 percent Evangelical/Mainline Protestant...

Butterfly

Either You Are, Or You Aren't a Renaissance Woman!

A renaissance woman is someone who sets her own agenda for personal achievement and will not allow herself to be manipulated or intimidated by self-proclaimed spokesmen who try and wrap their political philosophies around terms like "equality," "choice," "peace," "tolerance" and "diversity." She understands that she has been created for such a time as this and embraces her destiny as a challenge and not a curse, no matter what her personal circumstances. She is a winner not a whiner, a leader not a follower, a victor, not a victim. She wants to change the paradigm of the feminist movement that has served to marginalize and ridicule women who do not follow their collective agenda.

Millions of women around the country, from all professions, backgrounds and cultures, are courageously picking up the mantel of leadership and virtue, that the feminist movement has squandered. They are providing thoughtful and accurate analysis, on a variety of issues, of where, and who we are as a nation.

Remember, this is not a club. It is a mindset!
